GK5 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL

A friction limited slip differential designed specifically for Honda’s new generation L15B turbocharged engine. As the main model of Honda Earth Dreams technology, the L15B has excellent low torque performance and turbocharging characteristics that require special requirements for the transmission system. The original factory open differential is prone to torque steering and unilateral drive wheel slip during rapid acceleration and full door cornering, resulting in a decrease in acceleration efficiency and handling accuracy.
The E-ROM L15B friction type LSD adopts a high response multi plate clutch structure design, and achieves precise torque distribution control by specially matching the torque characteristics of the turbo engine with a preloading spring system and high-performance friction materials, effectively suppressing the torque steering phenomenon of front wheel drive turbo vehicles. This device has been specially tuned for the torque burst characteristics of turbocharging, providing optimal traction control for strong acceleration after turbocharging while maintaining daily driving comfort.

1.5 WAY  (The locking rate limit is determined by the number of friction plate groups. It intervenes during acceleration and deceleration, but the locking rate during deceleration is only half of the maximum locking rate.)
2.0 WAY  (The locking rate limit is determined by the number of friction plates, and it intervenes during both acceleration and deceleration)
